Grace O'Malley Kumar Foundation

2024 Round up

As 2024 draws to a close and we move into 2025, Sanjoy, Sinead and James and the trustees of the Grace O’Malley Kumar Foundation want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has supported the Foundation this year.

Here is a look back at some of the fundraising events and accomplishments of 2024.

All raising funds for the Grace O’Malley Kumar Foundation.

And of course, thank you to our sponsors who give regular donations every month.

Also, The Foundation launched ‘Grace Groups’ which a simple framework for use in schools, colleges and universities making sure that no one should feel left out or excluded.

How we support and use the funds raised

Grace was dedicated to supporting youth and community development through sports, mental health awareness, and education. The Grace O’Malley Kumar Foundation aims to continue Grace’s legacy of kindness and positivity, ensuring her impact lives on.

One such charity, ‘Raising Her Game’ was chosen to receive funds from Grace O’Malley Kumar Foundation and we have already made our first donation.

Raising Her Game’ embodies everything Grace believed in. It is committed to improving diversity and representation in women’s sports by offering free sports sessions and sports holiday camps to young girls from underrepresented groups. Through partnerships with local clubs and national governing bodies, the charity creates accessible pathways from grassroots to elite levels, fostering a lifelong passion for sport and equality.

More donations are planned for 2025

Into 2025

2025 will also see an action-packed year of events and fundraising. Here are some of the events planned so far.

  • Grace O’Malley Kumar Cup will be held again in Nottingham on 19th July. Another day of action packed fun and world class hockey. England Hockey have given their support to hold this as an annual event on their fixture list.
  • Nottingham half marathon
  • London Marathon
  • Half Ironman

Also watch out for a spectacular Black-Tie event in London being planned for later in the year.

Time to change the Law!

2025 will have our focus on the outcomes of the continued work with the authorities and the government. We are involved with:
  • changes to the Mental health Bill which is going through readings at the Houses of Parliament.
  • assisting the Ministry of Justice for review of sentencing laws in Great Britain
  • the continued push for a Public Enquiry into the events leading up to, during and the aftermath of the atrocities that took place in Nottingham in June 2023.
 It leaves us to say,

Thank you for continued support, have a happy New Year and

Let’s be more like Grace!
